Asia Western Pacific (AWP) Region – World Physiotherapy

The AWP Region is one of the five global regions under World Physiotherapy. It spans 32 national physiotherapy organizations, representing a rich and diverse landscape that includes countries from South Asia, Southeast Asia, East Asia, the Pacific Islands, and the Middle East.

AWP’s regional activities focus on:

Facilitating collaborative capacity building and education exchange.

Promoting policy alignment for equitable access to physiotherapy.

Supporting research, leadership development, and regulatory reform across the region.

Past AWP Congresses have been held in iconic cities like Hong Kong, Bangkok, Seoul, Mumbai, Jakarta, and Taichung, making the 2026 New Delhi Congress a proud continuation of this regional legacy.

As the host of AWP 2026, India will spotlight inclusive physiotherapy leadership, demonstrating the nation’s ability to bridge traditional health wisdom, modern clinical science, and policy innovation.
